According to\u00a0Regulation (EU) No 965\/2012<\/a>, amended by\u00a0Regulation (EU) 2018\/1042<\/a>, EASA Member States shall ensure that alcohol testing of flight crew and cabin crew members is carried out with regard to operators under their own oversight as well as with regard to operators under the oversight of another Member State or of a third country. Such testing shall be performed by ramp inspectors within the framework of the\u00a0Ramp Inspection Programme\u00a0<\/strong>of Subpart RAMP of Annex II to the above mentioned Regulation.<\/p>\n

According to the EU Regulation for the breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) in Italy is applicable the national statutory limit that is lower than the EASA limit. Therefore, the breath alcohol concentration (BrAC), measured during the alcohol test, should not exceed a level equivalent to 0.0 g\/L grams of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) per litre of blood. Which results in a\u00a0total ban on alcohol consumption for crew members.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Flight crew and cabin crew members with assigned operational duty may be subject to an alcohol tests.<\/p>\n

Crew members Alcohol tests in Italy will be performed by means of\u00a0approved evidential brethilyser\u00a0<\/strong>which allows to use the test results in the event of a judicial proceedings.<\/p>\n
