The National Portal on Wildlife Hazard for Aviation represents the digital evolution of the BSCI information system, offering airport operators, sector stakeholders and the interested public a modern, accessible tool for consulting wildlife strike data in Italy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

National Portal on Wildlife Hazard for Aviation<\/strong><\/p>\n

This information platform is dedicated to the management of wildlife hazard in the aeronautical context and to the prevention of wildlife strikes on aircraft.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

<\/span>What the Portal offers<\/span><\/h2>\n

Through the Portal it is possible to access:<\/p>\n

Interactive risk maps:<\/strong>\u00a0geographical visualisation of wildlife strike data, with the ability to filter by aerodrome, time period and species involved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Species information:<\/strong>\u00a0descriptive fact sheets on the principal species involved in strikes, with information on ecology, behaviour, seasonality and specific management measures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Attractants and mitigation measures:<\/strong>\u00a0a catalogue of the most common wildlife attractants and environmental management and active dispersal techniques.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Data by aerodrome:<\/strong>\u00a0risk profile for each Italian aerodrome, with historical series, BRI indices, predominant species and event seasonality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

The Portal is a working tool for sector operators, as well as a transparency initiative for the public, in line with ENAC’s commitment to promoting a culture of aviation safety.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
