Conversion of third-country licences

Introduction

The EU delegated Regulation 2020/723 provides the opportunity, in order to obtain Part-FCL licences, to grant some credits to the holders of licences issued in compliance with the requirements of Annex 1 to the Chicago Convention. Such credits shall be determined on the basis of a recommendation from an Approved Training Organisation (ATO).

Scope

In order to assure the same standards of recommendations by the ATOs, ENAC has established the following procedures and credits to which the ATOs shall comply in order to proceed with the achievement of the licences, provided that the applicant holds a licence issued in compliance with the requirements of ICAO Annex 1. Part-FCL licences obtained according to credits for third-country licences and in compliance with the requirements of ICAO Annex 1 shall be reported in the ATOs manuals as “Reduced course based on credits derived from a third-country licence in compliance with the requirements of ICAO Annex 1”.
