The national database

Since 2002, ENAC–BSCI has systematically collected wildlife strike data reported by all Italian airports, building a national database that represents a fundamental tool for understanding the phenomenon and guiding prevention policies.

The data are processed and published annually in the Wildlife Strike Report, a document presenting a detailed analysis of events recorded in the preceding year, medium- and long-term trends, distribution by aerodrome and species, and the calculation of risk indices.

The Annual Report is an instrument of transparency and accountability of the system, as well as a technical reference for airport operators, air operators, local authorities and the scientific community.
